THE MAKING OF…

Solace + Serenity.

Two nouns that can perfectly describe any experience that we have been through, a journey we’ve traveled or an obstacle we’ve overcome. Solace meaning the comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness and Serenity meaning the state of being calm, at peace, + untroubled.

I feel as though the words, Solace + Serenity has followed me throughout my life. Not just in terms of what they mean, but in terms of who I am and what’s shaped me, whether it be because of the color of my skin, or the fact that I’m spiritual, or a woman, the journey has not been easy but there’s always been calm after the storm.

I received my certification through BADT [ Birthing Advocacy Doula Training ] in 2024 as a CFSD. Although this career is a constant learning curve, it is my passion and drive to ensure parents, especially those who are under represented, to have a safe delivery.

At Solace + Serenity, I am dedicated to providing empowering, culturally sensitive, and inclusive support for Black and non-traditional families especially. I understand the unique challenges and experiences these families face, and I am passionate about advocating for their needs every step of the way. Whether you are navigating pregnancy, birth, or loss, I offer personalized care that honors your cultural background, identity, and family structure. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment. I’m here to listen and ensure that your voice is heard and respected in every aspect of your reproductive journey. Together, we’ll navigate this experience in a way that feels right for you and your loved ones.
